An inspiring place

The Liederhalle in the heart of Stuttgart is an inspiring place where history and modernity merge. Its origins date back to 1863, when the Stuttgart Liederkranz choir laid the foundation stone for a venue that quickly became the cultural center of the city. After being destroyed in World War II, the current Neue Liederhalle was opened in 1956—an architectural masterpiece and symbol of the city's new beginning. It was built in 1956 by architects Rolf Gutbrod and Adolf Abel, who set an international example with their expressionist and organic design of post-war modernism. The extension to the culture and congress center was realized in 1991 by architect Wolfgang Henning.

The Schillersaal in the heart of the Liederhalle

The Schillersaal and the directly adjoining foyer impress with their flexible use and clear, light-flooded architecture. State-of-the-art technology meets an open-plan concept here: between encounters and conversations, the foyer creates an open atmosphere.

How to get to the Antiquarian Book Fair

New location: Liederhalle Culture and Congress Center, Stuttgart.
Schillersaal and Schiller Foyer

Public transport: Berliner Platz stop.

From Stuttgart Central Station, you can reach the Liederhalle Culture and Congress Center in just three minutes. Take the U1 subway line towards Heslach Vogelrain or the U9 towards Botnang – both run every ten minutes. The Berliner Platz (Liederhalle) stop is located directly at the venue. In addition, bus line 43 connects to the Berliner Platz (Liederhalle) stop, from where you can easily reach the Liederhalle on foot.

From Stuttgart Airport, you can easily reach the Liederhalle Culture and Congress Center in about 25 minutes. Take the S-Bahn lines S2 towards Schorndorf or S3 towards Backnang to Stuttgart Central Station. Change to the S-Bahn there and continue to the Stadtmitte (Rotebühlplatz) stop. Use the Büchsenstraße / Haus der Wirtschaft exit; from here it is only about a five-minute walk to the Liederhalle. The service runs regularly throughout, without long waiting times.

Parking garage: Holzgartenstrasse or Bosch Areal/Liederhalle.

Barrier-free access: We recommend that visitors in wheelchairs take Breitscheidstraße and use the first entrance on the right to the Liederhalle/Bosch-Areal underground car park. From there, you can reach the main entrance without having to climb any steps.

The connected ****Maritim Hotel – the ideal trade fair hotel

The four-star Maritim Hotel Stuttgart is directly connected to the Liederhalle, making it the ideal trade fair hotel for your visit to the Stuttgart Antiquarian Book Fair 2026. Without leaving the building, you can easily reach the exhibition halls from your room, regardless of the weather – there is no more comfortable way to start and end a day at the fair.

The Maritim offers spacious, quiet rooms where you can relax after an intense day at the fair or follow up on discussions in peace and quiet. An extensive breakfast menu, an appealing gastronomic environment and bar and lounge areas create the perfect setting for informal contacts with colleagues, customers and collectors.

Thanks to its location in the heart of the city, Stuttgart's cultural highlights – theatres, opera, museums and restaurants – are also within easy reach of the Maritim, making a visit to the trade fair an ideal opportunity to combine it with a stay in the cultural metropolis of Stuttgart.
